We were instructed to design a large extension and detached garage to enhance the modest lodge in the grounds of Tregaddick House in the tiny village of Blisland on Bodmin Moor. The bungalow comprised two bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen, and family bathroom, and sat in spacious, south facing grounds.
Our client’s brief was to modify the internal layout and provide a subservient extension to house a lounge, utility room, master bedroom and en suite bathroom, linked to the main house via a glazed entrance hall.
The use of natural, sustainable materials, including vertical timber cladding, grey powder-coated aluminium windows and doors, and an extensive green roof, provide a modern addition to the stone lodge. Its contemporary design complements the original building and sits comfortably within its rural setting, designated as an Area of Great Landscape Value.
