Our clients wished to renovate and extend an old industrial unit to use as a church building and community centre. They also wished to increase their usable space by constructing an extra, smaller building on the existing front car park. We had previously secured permission to change the use of another building in the estate for the same client.
The redeveloped site had to include the steel frame of the existing building, which meant we had to work around the original building position. We obtained planning permission for the renovated and extended existing building, along with the new building in the front car park. This was helped by the previous permission we secured for the client, which established the principle of being able to convert an industrial unit to a church.
