Hawkins Farm, Relubbus
We were instructed to design a bespoke house within a residential complex on the outskirts of the tiny hamlet of Relubbus, seven miles east of Penzance. Our client had been working with a different firm of planning consultants and architects, but felt they needed a fresh approach.
Built on the footprint of an existing single-storey outbuilding, unsuitable for conversion, our design was simple and traditional, using natural stone with treated infill boarding panels and a natural slate roof.
Accommodation is provided across two floors, although it has the appearance of a single-storey home, and features large glazed aluminium bi-fold doors and roof windows.
