Gilly studied Town Planning at Newcastle University and has a Masters of Science in Sustainable Development with Climate Change and Environment from Exeter University. She is an Associate Member of the RTPI and an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Sciences.
Gilly has over 4 years’ private sector experience in spatial planning, and has gained detailed knowledge of planning for a wide range of renewable energy projects and constructing Environmental Statements. She has prepared and submitted a large variety of planning applications, ranging from marine infrastructure developments to large scale commercial solar and wind projects.
Gilly has experience in the appeals process (written representations and hearings), preparing permitted development notifications, producing alternative site assessment reports for projects within a green belt or on best and most versatile agricultural land, preparing householder applications, and in planning for large infrastructure projects. She also has extensive experience in preparing screening and scoping request reports for a variety of projects.
