On 8 September, The Planning Inspectorate allowed an Appeal made by Laurence Associates, granting permission for a 6 MW solar farm at Rame Cross in Penryn, Cornwall.
Representations were made by Laurence Associates further to Cornwall Council’s refusal to grant planning permission in September 2014 to an application submitted by a third party.
The Inspector found that the benefits of the proposed scheme outweighed the limited harm to the character and appearance of the area, and that there would be added benefit to the public by the provision of interpretative boards at the setting of the Scheduled Ancient Monuments. Partial costs were also granted.
