On 23 December Cornwall Council granted planning permission for the construction of a replacement dwelling, garage, boathouse and associated landscape works for a site in Restronguet Point. Occupying an exclusive location on the peninsular, the site slopes down to the coastal waters of Carrick Roads, with spectacular panoramic views out towards St Just in Roseland and beyond.
Our clients wished to replace the existing detached 1970’s bungalow with a contemporary, highly energy efficient family home to meet their current and future needs.
The design evolved by utilising the natural contours of the site, maximising the available space whilst respecting the surrounding and wider landscape. The choice of materials enhances the visual appearance of the site, demonstrating high-quality architecture pertinent to current developments along the Point. The overall size and appearance of the dwelling, garage and boathouse sits comfortably on the site and considered sympathetic when viewed in the context of the AONB and neighbouring development.
